Chips&Media Inc. has begun shipping what it describes is a fully verified CODA9A0 video encoder and decoder IP.
The CODA9A0 is a multistandards, multistream video decoder/encoder that
can deliver excellent video performance for the widest supported
standards, noted the company.
The CODA9A0 supports resolutions
up to 4K x 2K, which according to the company, is four times larger than
1080p, to fully meet the advanced full HD
frame packed S3D video imaging and immersive telepresencing. The core
also adds ultra-low latency coding ability, useful in a variety of
real-time interactive multimedia applications, including real-time
transcoding and video conference/communication, explained
The IP features multistream-capable HD video
engine delivering 1080p decode/encode and supports stereoscopic 3D (S3D)
video including multiview video coding
(MVC). It also supports WebM playback with VP8 decoder and touts
