Chips&Media delivers its latest CODA9A0 to Freescale

Seoul, Korea –April 23, 2012 – Chips&Media, Inc., a leading company in silicon video Intellectual Property (IP), today announces that it has begun shipping the fully verified CODA9A0 video encoder and decoder IP to partners including Freescale, and it will be deployed in future i.MX application processors after i.MX6.


Chips&Media’s CODA9A0 is a multi-standards, multi-stream video decoder/encoder, capable of delivering industry-leading video performance for the widest supported standards. In addition, CODA9A0 supports resolutions up to 4Kx2K, which is 4 times larger than 1080p, to fully meet the advanced full HD frame-packed S3D video imaging and immersive telepresencing. The core also adds ultra-low latency coding ability, useful in a variety of real-time interactive multimedia applications, including real-time transcoding, and video conference/communication.
