Personal Information Privacy Policy

Chips&Media, Inc., (hereinafter referred to as "Company") is committed to protect our users' personal information and also to comply with the relevant privacy laws. This privacy policy describes how and why the Company collects and uses personal information from its users. Additional measures are taken to protect their personal information. 
 

Article 1 (Processing Personal Information) 

The Company processes personal information for the following purposes. The personal information being processed will not be used for purposes other than the following, and if the purpose of the use is changed, the Company will take necessary measures, such as obtaining separate consent in accordance with the relevant privacy laws.

  1. Recruitment: Progress of recruitment screening, guidance by screening stage, and use of human resources database

  2. Product and Service Inquiries: Sending Company product information (e.g. product catalog, etc) and replying to inquiries  

  3. ​Company IR: Sending Company IR data and scheduling IR meetings online 

Article 2 (Personal Information Collection Items) 
The Company collects only the minimum personal information necessary to use the site, other than personal information for job application. 

  1. Name, address, phone number, email address, and other contact information

  2. Academic background, career, military service, grades 

  3. Knowledge and competency involved

  4. Language and other qualification, awards 

  5. Self-introduction

  6. Veterans and eligibility for disabled

  7. ​Other information you choose to provide (e.g. final salary, desired salary, etc.) 

Article 3 (Processing and Retention Period of Personal Information)

The Company handles and retains personal information within the retention and use period of personal information according to laws and regulations during the retention and use period of personal information agreed upon when collecting personal information from an information provider. 

  1. Recruitment: 3 years from the date of submission of a job application. However, upon withdrawal or deletion requests, it is immediately destroyed. 

  2. ​Others (Request for product inquiry and IR meeting): 1-month after the purpose of using personal information is achieved. 

Article 4 (Related to Destruction of Personal Information) 

  1. The Company destroys personal information without delays when personal information becomes unnecessary, such as the elapse of the retention period of personal information and the achievement of the purpose of processing. 

  2. The personal information shall be preserved separately in a database or other storage location if the retention period of personal information agreed by the information provider has elapsed or the purpose of processing has been achieved, in accordance with different laws and regulations. 

  3. The procedures and methods of personal information destruction are as follows: ​

  • Disposal procedure: ​The Company selects personal information that caused the reason for destruction and destroy personal information with the approval of the company's personal information protection officer. 

  • Destruction methods: The Company shall destroy personal information existing in writing by a shredder or dissolving it by processing chemicals, and destroying personal information stored in the form of electronic files by using technical methods that cannot be reproduced. ​

Article 5 (Protection for the Safety of Personal Information) 

The Company takes the following measures to ensure the stability of personal information. 

  1. Administrative measure: The establishment of internal management standards, regular employee training, etc. 

  2. Technical measures: The management of security and installation of security programs to the ​minimum extent necessary for the performance of personal information processing. 

Article 6 (Personal Information Protection Officer) 

  1. The Company is responsible for handling personal information and has designated the person in charge of personal information protection as follows to handle complaints and remedy of data provider related to personal information processing. The Company appoints the following department and officers to protect personal information and handles complaints relating to personal information.

  2. The information provider can inquire about all personal information protection related inquiries, complaint handling, and damage relief that occurred while using the company's services to the person in charge of personal information protection and the department in charge. The company will respond and process inquiries to information subjects without delays.  

Article 7 (Duties of Notice)

If there is an addition, deletion, or modification of the contents in accordance with changes in laws, policies, regulations, or security technology, the Company will notify the reason and contents of the revisions on the official website at least 10 days prior to the enforcement.

Article 8(Rejection of Unauthorized Collection of Emails)

Note that any email addresses posted on this website refuses to be collected without permission by means of an email collection program or other technical devices, and be aware that any violation of this will be punished by the relevant laws/regulations.
